Five Things – Wednesday 10/14
1. Busy day. A lot of work got done. I did manage to blow up a wee bit on my boss’ boss, and I ended up asking a bit forcefully when the Accounting department was going to be informed that there was an additional position to be filled in 2010, since we had to deal with the salary and related areas like pension and company contributions to Social Security and Medicare for budgetary purposes. A whole lot of wind later I got a “my bad”. Then I worked out (200 pushups, thanks sir!) and was too tired to care.
2. Comment redacted.
3. I read a very good post about the death of Pat Tillman. The story most everyone heard was a lie, and the tragic circumstances of his death make me think of all the servicemen and women who volunteered to fight and die at the discretion of our government, many for the reason that they knew that not everyone could or would do so. They all deserve better than the U.S. government. Fighting for your country is one thing. Fighting for politicians is a completely different thing.
4. I need to get a new fuse for my meat slicer. I hope that is the problem with it, because I don’t want to buy another one. But I will if I have too.
5. The week is already over halfway done. Amen, brother.
